NEW BOOK ON THE CULTURAL HISTORY OF MEDIEVAL RUSSIA

The book by A. V. Chernetsov is a collection of the author’s articles, come over the past decade and published in this edition with significant additions and an extensive bibliography. The research focuses on famous monuments of art and jewelry from pre-Mongol Rus, Russian numismatics of the Middle Ages, and charms preserved in the written tradition of the 17th–19th centuries, which are retrospectively important for the study of ancient Slavic mythology. The publication of A. V. Chernetsov’s book of works will undoubtedly attract the attention of a wide range of specialists, archaeologists, historians, philologists, and art historians to the further study of the spiritual and material culture of Rus of the Middle Ages and early Modern period in all its diverse sources and aspects.
